Wow, what a busy week it’s been. I miss all the free time I had in Morocco to devote to writing (it helped living in a house where I didn’t need to do any cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, etc…!) Our first week in France was a rousing success, helped in part by the company of Molly and my mother-in-law, Beryl, from England. We rented a small house just outside a small town called Theoule-sur-mer. It was on a hilltop (with loads of other houses) with a wraparound deck overlooking the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding hillsides. It was lovely! The hills around us were covered with small shrubs, rosemary bushes in bloom and tons of Mimosa trees, which were in full bloom, covered with beautiful bright yellow flowers (this area is the ‘mimosa capital’ of France, they’re a vibrant yellow, particularly in the sun, and you see whole hillsides of them).
