We visited a really interesting place called the ‘Abbaye de St-Roman, just outside of Beaucaire. It is a ‘troglodyte monastery’, carved into limestone cliffs. We were able to walk up to the troglodyte ‘hermitage’ and get a good view over at the Abbaye, which unfortunately was closed already. We also met up with a couple of friendly goats who seem to be the only remaining inhabitants of the monastics cells we found!
