I’m really sad that my TESOL course is coming to an end. I’ve really enjoyed our two teachers, Gyl and Abderrahim, both are blessed with an excellent sense of humor and their own unique insights into teaching. I’ve also really enjoyed getting to know and spending time with my classmates; learning together, observing each other teach and having adventures in Marrakech and Essaouira. I have especially enjoyed the young Moroccans who have been coming on their own time, diligently, for usually 2 hours per day, for free English lessons. They are so warm and welcoming and so appreciative of the opportunity to work with us. They are so motivated, it is a pleasure to teach them. We laugh a lot and have learned a lot from each other. Nearly all are currently in their post high school education; some are studying computer science, nursing, economics, midwifery, and some are working on masters degrees. I am sad to be leaving them- they have been so willing to share of themselves and of their lives here in Morocco while also being very curious about our lives.
