Well, we made it to France and were very happy to be greeted by sunny weather after all that rain that ended our stay in Morocco. Our plane trip was very uneventful. We flew Ryanair, which is a cheapo/no frills european carrier. It was a real cattle car. Even though I had purchased 'priority boarding' which is meant to allow you first access to the general admission seating, it didn't work out that way. No such thing as lining up, it was just a push for the door and get the best seat you could! No free peanuts or soda, they keep costs dirt cheap by keeping frills to zero!
Here is a picture of beautiful and fragrant rosemary in bloom, which is everywhere, my first gargoyle at Saint-Maximin-de-Sainte-Beauce (quite a mouthful!) where we stayed the first night. The cathedral has a lovely pipe organ and was lovely. The other picture is of the ruined castle in the town of Grimaud, which is one of the many towns/castles owned or controlled by the Grimaldi clan, which is still the reigning family in Monaco. Much more to come!
